Setting
Bentley's is a seafood house but, except for the small oyster counter out back, you wouldn’t know it from the neutral decor. There are no kitschy fish or seafood adornments or any signs of the maritime world - instead it’s straight to sunny yellow walls and clean white table cloth settings.

Food
Aside from showcasing first-rate oysters, British seashore favorites are a specialty including fish and chips and fish pies. John Stewart, known as the city’s ‘Oyster Man’, runs the raw bar and imports the freshest oysters from around the world. Don’t miss the chance to learn from the friendly Oyster Man about the specialties of different oysters. In-season-French variety oysters such as Special De France and La Royale are served that taste like they have been plucked right from the ocean- voluminous and tender. Good execution isn’t limited to raw seafood as executive chef David Shuttleworth is expert in frying and grilling them too. Recommended dishes include fish pies stuffed with a wealth of goodies beneath the mashed potato and grilled cheddar top. Other mains include salmon fish cakes that are delicately crunchy on the outside whilst moist inside. You sense that fresh, quality ingredients are nurtured and prepared by knowledgeable hands.

Wine: A tight wine selection is predominantly of whites from various regions and worlds but is focused mainly on complementing seafood.
